My 7 Links Project

Sherry of Colorful Footsteps has just nominated me to participate in the “My 7 Links Project” (Thanks, Sherry!)

Initiated by Tripbase, the My 7 Links Project aims “to unite bloggers (from all sectors) in a joint endeavor to share lessons learned and create a bank of long but not forgotten blog posts that deserve to see the light of day again.”

I’m very honored that Sherry has nominated me. It was difficult to select just six posts but I hope you’ll like the ones I chose.

My Most Beautiful Post – Going Round the Cape of Good Hope

Each place I visit has its own natural beauty but Cape Town almost blew me away. The combination of lush green, mountains almost everywhere I turned and the ocean on the other side, beauty hid around every corner.

My Most Popular Post – Havana: Africa Meets Cuba in Callejon de Hamel

My travel buddy and I were anxious to go to Callejon de Hamel. We were not disappointed.

My Most Controversial Post – Why I Won’t Be Watching Today’s Royal Wedding

It’s hard not to voice an opinion on things that, to me, don’t seem right. I waded into this one with both feet.

My Most Helpful Post – Five Things to Do in Newark

Despite its bad reputation, you’d be wrong to write Newark off.

A Post Whose Success Surprised Me – Before My Travel Blog

I don’t go anywhere without some kind of journal with me. Before I had a blog, it was the best way to document my trips. Even though I have a blog now, I still use a travel journal.

A Post that Didn’t Get the Attention it Deserved – Stonehenge, Sacred Stone Circle

Stonehenge has been on my travel list for quite sometime. I was anxious to get there and see it for myself.

The Post I’m Most Proud of – Pelican Bar: We’re Going There?

There are several posts that fit this category. Unfortunately, I could only name one. Hope you agree.

And now, I’d like to nominate these very fabulous travel bloggers to participate in the My 7 Links Project.

  1. I saw a snippet of it, as I was on my way to work. I didn’t think so much about the reasons you stated as well, simply, I just didn’t care that they were marrying. There’s this whole idealized world that people flock to that I’ve not grasped, even after so much turmoil inside the castles of these kinds of lifestyles.

And you’re right, calamity is around their doorstep but the crown rules. It’s the history and life the Brits have designed though. What else can we say…

  2. Hi Marcy,

May I reiterate my deepest thanks for nominating me to the project. I myself felt the pain of selecting only five of my favorite fabulous bloggers to be nominated for the this project and I am deeply touched that you considered me as among your nominees. It’s an honor which I will consider a big debt-of-gratitude which I vow to reciprocate, in one way or another, in the near future.

By the way, I had linked you to http://www.islandvacations.me/travel-sites-2.

    Best regards,

    Edelito

  3. It’s certainly nice to see that the child we saw how many years ago is now about to have his own family. But their lives are not more important than mine and I couldn’t imagine putting myself out just to be in the crowd. I was working at home that day, didn’t even turn on the tv. A friend of mine went and sent me photos. Looking at her photos, I could see how proud she was to have been invited.

  4. Wonderful choices… Still have to get mine up… OOps! 🙂
When I click on blog, I don’t see any of your blog posts there… Are you going to add them? Also, I’m not sure where to find your posts here… I seemed to come across this one organically or by clicking around…lol! Forgive me if I’m a bit slow on the uptake… 🙂

  5. Marcia…helllp… lol. I think I might be lost here. I love the pics, & thought I read I love New York, which I do I do…I spend quite a few weekends, and week days up there… lol… But as I glanced above, I dawned on me that I might be responding to the wrong post!!! Please forgive me. One thing among many things, I’m a big goof, with zero technological catch on skills.

At any rate, your photos are just breathtaking. I wanna go, I wanna go. Show me the way to Jamaica and India and Africa and, and, and… just point it out on a map and I’m going! That’s what your photos do to me! As a matter of fact, I’m showing my mother. That’s a woman who don’t care where a plane is going as long as she’s on it!

  6. Thanks for your feedback, Elizabeth. It’s good to hear how you interact with the site as I’m usually looking at the back end.
I had the blog on the blog page but I wanted it on the front page so now I have to delete the blog page. I’m still tinkering. Thanks for trying to find me.
I’m going to spend some time on it again after things get a bit settled here.
    Thanks again,
    Marcia

  7. No worries, Rhonda.
Your mom sounds like my aunt — she’s got Parkinson and isn’t as mobile as she used to me. Okay, get ready, we’re going on some fabulous journeys.

  8. You’re welcome, Edelito!
I’m glad that you’re able to participate. Will be heading over to ready your 7 in a minute.
    Thanks again,
    Marcia
