A recent post from my blog buddy, Heather Munro, who blogs at Heatherblog made me think about the street signs I have in my photo collection.

  1. Interesting collection and how the minds of travelers works. I’d never think to take such pictures. I’m always looking for something colorful but street signs can be significant because they are designed differently in different countries. I’m going to start paying more attention to that.

  2. This is great! And what is funny, is that I was thinking about doing some highway signs this time, we could have had a real theme going! Love the idea. . .

  3. Thanks, Totsy. It usually takes me a while to get oriented to street signs and their placement. Even going from state to state, I notice the differences. Like here in the NY / NJ area — the street signs are quite different.

  4. Travel signs would be great fun and yes, I would be interested in starting such a line. . .I couldn’t find an email address for you so hope you’ll see this comment. Drop me a note at travelnwrite@msn.com and we can get started!

  5. I always collect funny signs when I travel as a momento of my travel to that place. It usually makes me laugh, plus its cheap on the wallet and light on the bag. Sadly, its becoming harder and harder to find funny signs. But what a great idea to start capturing the street signs. These are a great collection.

  6. I love street signs and take pictures of them everywhere I go. What a delight to see you captured a few;especially one from my old neighborhood. African Sq… I worked in that area in the 1980s. Time flies!
