Havana’s Art Park

I know I’ve had a good vacation when I return home feeling enriched and inspired.

One thing that always inspires me is art and seeing art, especially art that’s accessible to everyone does my heart good. Don’t get me wrong, I love museums and art galleries — they have their place — but I love when there are no barriers to everyday people’s enjoyment of art.

So when we happened upon this park while on our way to the Plaza de la Revolucion, I felt I had hit the jackpot. I think I almost ran across the street to get to it as quickly as I could.

This piece caught my eye first.

I feel exactly the same. I enjoy going to art museums, but I always wince when I pay to get in. I mean, I could look up all the pieces for free, but yet, I’m paying to see them in person. That’s why public art is always great, I know there’s some around here where I live, I’ll take a picture and send it to you so you can check it out. That is, when I remember where it is.

Hi Mozes, I’d love to see it. Would you believe I’ve never been to Colorado?
I’ll have to put it on my list. I hear it’s very beautiful. Aaaah, so much to see; so little time!

    Hi Marcia
Too right you’ll have to put Colorado on your list, it’s amazing. I’ve been there quite a few times now, so whenever you want a guide…

I will, Tony. I’ve heard really great things about it but I must confess, I’ve always just thought of it as a skiing destination and since I don’t ski….
      But I’m reconsidering.
