Weekly Photo Challenge: Morning

Morning. Sunrise. The start of a new day filled with promise. A fresh opportunity to start over, to begin anew, to do better.

Morning on the Golden Mile, Durban - Maynefoto

Morning. Everyone awakens after a night of rest to pick up where they left off. A few hours after I took this photo, there was hardly an empty spot on the boardwalk.

Dawn of a New Day, Washington Mall, January 19, 2009 - Maynefoto

I was among the thousands who gathered on the Mall to witness the inauguration of President Obama. As we waited on that frigid morning, I couldn’t help noticing the sky and the dawning of the new day.

We’re told that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I agree. When I have a good breakfast, I feel like there’s nothing I can’t do.

Good Morning!

  1. What a lovely collection of morning photos… Breakfast reigned supreme when I was growing up and is important. For some reason, I don’t eat it anymore unless I’m hungry… or on vacation somewhere. I’m rarely hungry in the mornings. 🙂

  2. Thank you! It was in mine too. I still try to make sure I eat something in the mornings, especially when I’m going to work, though it’s much lighter. But when I’m working at home, I can go till lunch time and not feel hungry. Funny, isn’t it?

  3. Hey Marcia, sorry I haven’t been around your blog in a while, ever since you changed it, it stopped showing up on my subscription list. I’m still trying to figure out how to navigate my way around. How do I get to your latest post?

  4. Hey Mozes, I’m still trying to find my way around as well.
I’ve put an email sign up form on the landing page towards the bottom — sign up there and you’ll get my latest or if you prefer, there’s an RSS feed you can sign up to as well.
Let me know if that works.
Nice to see you. Sorry the journalism thing didn’t work out but don’t give up.

  5. Wish I knew you were coming, I’d have saved you a plate!
When my mom got older, she couldn’t eat ackee. I felt for her because she loved it but I’m hoping that gene missed me cause I don’t know what I’d do if I couldn’t eat it.
Oh, and you forgot the roast breadfruit! I’ll take that and a nice mug of fever grass aka lemon grass tea.
    Thanks for the visit,
    Marcia

  6. Good Morning – this is a wonderful start to the day especially with that kingly breakfast. Ackee and saltfish, fried dumplings, fruits + a large mug of hot chocolate :-). Now I am hungry.
