Weekly Photo Challenge: Numbers

I wasn’t sure I had photos for this week’s challenge but I know now not to dismiss the challenge before looking through my collection. Sure enough, I found several photos.

So here are my photos and my thoughts on numbers.

Numbers follow us everywhere we go. When we’re born, our birth announcements include the dates and times of birth and the number of pounds we weighed. Even our names can be reduced to a number. Mine’s 5. Do you know what yours is? If you don’t, you can find it here.

Most of have numbers in our street addresses, social security and telephone numbers. Some people have favorite numbers and numbers that they play. What’s your favorite number?

These are just a few examples of the impact and importance of numbers in our lives. We just can’t escape them!

  1. Mine is 4. Here in the Philippines, superstitions have something to do with numbers. We don’t have 13th floors, it’s bad luck to take a group photo of 3, etc. It is probably similar with other cultures. Thanks to this post, I learned my number and I like it because D, which is the first letter of my name, is also the 4th letter in the alphabet. Cool!!!

  2. I think the 13th floor superstition is here as well though I think there might be a building or two with a 13th floor.
    I’d never heard about the group photo one. Hmmm, wonder why that’s bad luck….

    Hope you are enjoying the move! I like that 100 trillion dollar bill… it reminded me of a check I have for attracting same… Will use it. 🙂

  4. I am, Elizabeth. Still unpacking, if you know what I mean, and discovering new features. Everytime I look at that bill, I feel rich! I have a few others of other denomination — all with multiple zeros. If you want, I can share them with you. Let me know.
